"Our whole family surfed! We had two instructors for our kids. 8yr. old Tyler fell in love with Lani. We know what the Aloha Spirit means, the North Shore Surf Girls."

You saw the movie Blue Crush? That could be YOU, learning to surf on the North Shore of Oahu – a bit like learning how to drive on the autobahn, but not because we teach you to surf in Hawaii in a safe and fun way..

The North Shore of Oahu has a lot of surf of all kinds. Not just Pipeline, Sunset Beach and Rocky Point for the top pros, but also kinder, gentler beaches for beginners, from Waikiki in the south shore to Haleiwa, Chun’s Reef and Pua ‘Aena Point on the North Shore.

The North Shore of Oahu is a great place to learn how to surf, but it’s just a great place to be: a small, country town between the green jungle of Oahu and the mighty ocean. The water is warm, the sun is almost always smiling and just being there makes you happy, because it’s so peaceful and beautiful.

While North Shore Surf Girls offers co-ed and All Girls programs, all of the surf instructors are women: lifeguards, surfers, waterwomen who are all lifeguard certified and qualified in CPR and First Aid Responder training. We generally work on a three-students-per-instructor ratio, but that can also be adjusted to one on one.

The ocean is dynamic around Oahu: wind and waves and currents and tide are always changing, and it takes knowledge to know where the waves will be best for beginners. In summer, learning to surf in Waikiki is a popular, but the North Shore has cleaner wate and good beginnerl waves at Haleiwa and Chun’s Reef.

In the winter, the surf is often too big at most surf spots some times even for the most experienced surfers, but North Shore Surf Girls know teach you to surf in a cove protected from the large waves..

There is one three hour lessons each day. If you want another daily surf lesson, those are included in place of the other daily activities. Each day is filled with cool sightseeing adventures, but if you like, you can choose to stay at the beach with your instructor for more waves or just relax, read a book , work on your tan, search for seashells and watch an amazing sunset. Everything is on Hawaiian time and very laid back, our goal is for you to completely decompress and to love surfing and the North Shore as much as we do!

In Hawaii you can surf all day, every day, but there are other things to do: snorkeling, kayaking, hiking in Waimea Valley, gliders and skydiving at Kaena Point, visiting the Polynesian Cultural Center, shopping, hanging out or going into Town (Waikiki) and drinking funny-colored drinks with parachutes.

There is never a boring moment learning to surf with the North Shore Surf Girls!

Breakfast is provided and lunch and dinner are at your own expense at the wonderful local restaurants in Historic Haleiwa Town. This is a great way to pick what you like, experience the local cuisine and have a great time talking story with your North Shore Surf Girl Guide.
