The best place to learn to surf on Oahu is Puaena Point on the North Shore.  Puaena Point is located in a protected cove near the town of Haleiwa.  It’s known for long gentle waves with little currents, perfect for beginners learning to surf.  There is free parking and a public bathroom with cold water showers at this location.  If you’re lucky you will see a green sea turtle on the beach or more likely while surfing.
