Cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before your lesson start time for a full refund or free reschedule. If North Shore Surf Girls cancels due to surf or weather conditions, you choose: a full refund, a free reschedule to any future date, or a North Shore Surf Girls gift card. No-shows are non-refundable, but we can usually reschedule with advance notice — even inside the 24-hour window — so please call or text us the moment you know. Late arrivals are accommodated to the best of our ability, especially when traffic is the cause.

The Sunset BBQ & Surf Lesson starts at $249.95 per person and runs through the late afternoon into the evening — a surf lesson plus a beach BBQ timed around sunset. Exact start and end times are confirmed at booking based on the day’s sunset.
We schedule your meet-up time in the late afternoon so the surf portion finishes as the sun begins to set. Because Hawaiʻi sunset times shift through the year (roughly 5:30 PM in winter to 7:15 PM in summer), your exact start time is confirmed when you book.
Your booking includes a casual beach BBQ with grilled food, sides, and refreshments served right after your surf session. Vegetarian options are available — please let us know about dietary restrictions when you book so we can plan accordingly.
The lesson is held at Puaena Point or Chunʻs Reef in Haleʻiwa on Oʻahu’s North Shore, and the BBQ is set up on the beach nearby. Both spots are gentle, beginner-friendly waves with a sandy bottom and an unobstructed sunset view to the west.
Yes — this is a fully guided, beginner-friendly experience. Your certified instructor handles board selection, wave timing, and safety, and the late-afternoon lineup at Puaena and Chunʻs is typically calmer than the morning crowds. No prior surf experience is needed.
