the Hawaiian Girls are 2 for 2 going into the final event of the Triple Crown of Surfing. Kauai’s Alana Blanchard proved to all that she’s got what it takes by winning the Van’s Haleiwa Surfing event and by making the finals of the Sunset Beach Gidget Pro. Carrisa Moore of Oahu also served notice, again, by winning the Gidget Pro. After years and years of sending the girls out in super small “safe” waves, today’s final day of competition held in 6 – 8 ft (Hawaiian scale) proved that women can handle big waves and in fact may just thrive on them. Sadly, North Shore Surfer Girl Coco Ho did not get any waves in her semi final, but she’s young and it was her best result to date at a surfing contest at Sunset Beach.
