The North Shore Surf Girls Surf School, welcomes North Shore Surfer Girl, Janna Bills to the team. Born and raised on Oahu’s North Shore, Janna has been enjoying a life of surfing since age 10. Any sport in the water has been a common theme in her life since she was a small child. She as competed as a collegiate NCAA swimmer & water polo player, and enjoys paddling boarding, stand up paddling and of course surfing, anything in the water.

Surfing lessons on the North Shore of Oahu have been epic. Puaena Point in Haleiwa is going off! While the surf has been great the trash left over from the Summer is pretty bad. To help keep the area nice for all surfers and even the other surf schools the North Shore Surf Girls have adopted the beach and are trying to keep all the trash picked up. Look for us cleaning the next time your there and lend a hand and help us clean the beach before your surfing lesson.
North Shore Surfer Girls are Ruling Chun’s Reef!
Saturday, August 15th, 2009Back in the day ( early 80’s for me) one would rarely see women in the water surfing or even learning to surf. Fast-forward to the Summer of 2009; while teaching surfing lessons at my favorite beginner spot on the North Shore (Chun’s Reef) I’m sharing the lineup with a crew of about five of the cutest little purebred North Shore Surfer Girls I’ve ever seen. Guaranteed that among this crew of five-to-10 year old girl shredders is a future world surfing champion. These young North Shore Surfer Girls likely learned to surf with their moms or dads before they could walk. They are an inspiration to my surf lesson students — and cute, cute, cute!
Summer Surfing Lessons on the North Shore
Sunday, July 12th, 2009Although most people think of Waikiki and surfing lessons, learning to surf in Hawaii on the North Shore of Oahu in the Summer is a much better choice. The North Shore has cleaner water then Waikiki surf, no stinging jelly fish, no crowds and 1-2 foot waves everyday! In the Winter months of course it’s a different story – but then we teach you in a cove protected from the big North Shore surf. Either way Summer or Winter learning to surf on the North Shore blows away surfing lessons in Waikiki, plus you get beautiful sunsets and free parking!
