Pipeline Surfing Going Off on the North Shore of Oahu – W/ Only 150 Surfers Out

By |October 18th, 2012|Pipeline Surfing Going Off on the North Shore of Oahu - W/ Only 150 Surfers Out, Surf Happenings|0 Comments

Ever wonder why you should not surf the Pipeline on the North Shore of Oahu?  One really good reason is that it is the most crowded surf spot on the North Shore.  This is due to the fact that it is the best wave on the North Shore and also the most photographed.  Every surf season hundreds of the world’s top professional surfers come to the North Shore of Oahu just to surf the Pipe.  When they are not surfing it they are watching it, cheering on each other like gladiators in an arena.  The bottom line for the North Shore Surf Girls Surf School is that the Pipeline is not the place to learn to surf on the North Shore of Oahu.

Aloha,  Just wanted to share with you a little bit of our philosophy of teaching children to surf.  The North Shore Surf Girls know that each child has a unique personality and ability  to adapt to an aquatic environment.  With that in mind we customize our surf lessons to ensure that your child is safe and feels confident as they become acquainted with surfing and riding waves for the first time.

No North Shore Surf Contest Calander for Pro Surfing events on the North Shore…

By |October 7th, 2012|Surf Happenings|0 Comments

While the North Shore of Oahu is the official Surfing Capitol of the World no one knows the dates of the professional and amateur surfing contest held annually each year.  Not the event directors, competitors, sponsors or the media.  For that matter even the government has no idea of what the actual dates are.  Why is is?  It seems strange considering the huge number of people that could use that information to better plan their lives.  The challenge is that in the “real world”  people need time to plan.  For example if an athlete is going to travel halfway around they need some lead time to get travel visas, etc.  Another challenge is in obtaining sponsorship.  It’s very challenging to find a “big” sponsor when as the promoter you only have a couple of months lead time because you don’t know the dates of your event.  I could go on and on but you get the picture….welcome to Hawaii….
